Main function of the job:

This role, within Multi Currency Treasury (MCT) and with oversight from Financial Performance Management (FPM), will provide the candidate with a unique opportunity to understand and work with all the respective Lines of Business across the regional platform as we develop and implement a new method for assessing financial performance across the platform.

The position's primary responsibility is to assist in leading the development of the company's performance measurement framework. The position will be a key contributor for this new initiative by spearheading the construction of complex financial pro formas, coordinating with finance and business teams to develop key assumptions, and providing general finance/modeling leadership for the FPM team.

Upon implementation, the position will also assist with coordinating regularly with finance and business teams to help understand impacts of profitability from the new framework and for developing detailed analyses to support these interactions.

The position will also assist in leading the development of a performance management framework (including funds transfer pricing) for Wells Fargo's capital markets businesses

Responsibilities:

The primary areas of responsibility for the role are as follows:

  • Play a leading role in the development and build out of the FTP framework across the region.
  • Translating changes in the regions objectives, constraints, and environment into appropriate allocation approaches as it pertains to funds transfer pricing, liquidity costs, and capital.
  • Leading the coordination of finance resources across the firm including business line finance teams, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), and Corporate Treasury.
  • Working with business and finance teams to communicate changes to the performance measurement framework and to educate key stakeholders on new methodologies.
  • Respond to business and finance team's queries on the new performance measurement framework.
  • Creating customized financial models to analyze key drivers of business/product performance under various allocation methodologies.
  • Establishing and documenting processes used to evaluate and implement new methodologies and assist with the monitoring of performance subsequent to implementation.
  • Coordinating with the LCRP team as the primary point of contract for FPM, and functioning as the subject matter expect for Capital/RWA matters across the region.
  • Assisting in qualitative impact assessments and presentations to senior management and the broader treasury and finance community.
  • Assisting in testing and validating that new allocation methodologies and calculations are correctly implemented in the management reporting system
  • Keeping team's updated with regulatory developments in the EU and UK and the impact on Capital, Liquidity and Recovery planning

Market Skills and Certifications

  • Ideally post graduate qualified or degree educated in a relevant subject (Financial Services or Sciences preferred).
  • Experience in financial institutions Treasury, Accounting or Risk functions.
  • Familiarity with a broad array of financial markets including, but not limited to, foreign exchange, interest rates and repo/reverse repo.
  • Experience of EMEA regulations around Capital and Liquidity, CRR/Basel 3/4, BIPRU.
  • Excellent numeracy and, modelling and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken: Effective in communications across a variety of audiences and constituencies
  • Honesty and integrity in all aspects of their work
