To support our success we are currently seeking a Manager to join the Finance team in our Brisbane office.



About the Role...

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will have responsibilities across management, portfolio and systems accounting functions for the Sunsuper Group, including assisting the Head of Finance in ensuring the entities meet all accounting and related statutory obligations. You will also be responsible for ensuring there is a strong corporate focus of the team in context with Sunsuper's overall company direction.



In this role you will be responsible for:


Develop and lead a team of Finance Business Partners (Management accountants) to consistently deliver results and meet deadlines.
Coordinating the provision of the regulatory and financial information necessary for the proper management of the Group to the Executive, the Board and Board Committees.
Take a lead role in the production of an annual budget and forecasting process and reporting against it.
Provide advice and monitor the financial performance of the Portfolio of Enterprise changes initiatives including project forecasting and estimation, time sheets and rate cards along with the development of benefits profiles and monitoring of benefit realisations.
Assist in the oversight of the reserves and cash flow management of the Group.
Ensuring there are appropriate procedures and process frameworks in place to minimise risk and fraud potential. Ensuring statutory tax compliance and accounting obligations are met.
Identifying and resolving issues/problems and where required, raising issues with management with an assessment of the impact of the issue/problem and recommendations for resolution.
Have a clear understanding of the impact of operational v capital expenditure, tax, investments and member related transactions and their interaction and effect on accounting results.
Ensuring that system upgrades and changes meet the accounting and reporting requirements and that any changes in processes and procedures are updated and assessed for any improved efficiencies.


About You...

To ensure success you will possess :


A minimum of 7 years’ experience as a qualified Accountant (ICAA, CPA or equivalent).
Strong strategic and conceptual thinking capability, with the ability to develop and implement plans to achieve outcomes.
Proven experience in leadership and management of a team, including performance management, change management, recruitment and staff motivation within a Finance function.
Proven communication skills operating at multiple levels in an organisation with the ability to present both orally and in writing according to the audience needs.
Proven ability to identify, scope and implement practical changes to drive efficiency within a large Finance function.
Able to demonstrate good legislative/compliance and industry knowledge.
Systems capability - able to learn and understand new systems quickly, audit systems processes and have a demonstrated track record of optimising and automating work processes.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with other senior managers across an organisation.


The following qualities will be highly regarded:


Superannuation experience and knowledge of the associated legislation that operates within the superannuation environment.Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to superannuation and group life insurance.
Fund accounting experience including knowledge of the investment operations and regulatory requirements of large Superannuation Fund.People management and team leadership experience.
Experience in implementing and communicating change processes and providing advice and guidance to projects implementing tools/systems which may impact financial operations.
Experience using Technology One Finance System.
