International Banking organisation based in the City is recruiting for an Assistant Accountant at Part Qualified level to join their team of 10 in finance.

Description

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will be responsible for managing all the accounting elements for the branch activities (both in the UK and Overseas).

This is a hands-on role covering a broad spectrum of management and financial accounting duties and will include:

• Liaising with branches to obtain information for inclusion of management, statutory and regulatory reporting

• Analytical review of branch performance within the specified time frame while allowing adequate time for all necessary reviews including the financial controller and senior executives

• Preparation of value added tax return for branch(es) based on the reporting guidelines for each jurisdiction

• Preparation of regulatory returns for branches based on reporting requirements for each jurisdiction

• Development and maintenance of strong working relationships with all branches to ensure accuracy and consistency of data provided

• Revenue and expense budgets monitoring

• Internal regulatory liquidity reporting

• Cover for assistant regulatory accountant

• Resolution of outstanding items on bank reconciliation for branches

Profile

You will be ideally part qualified at ACCA or CIMA and actively studying.

Hands on accounting experience on both the transactional finance side and the month end reporting side as this is a hands on role with a broad spectrum of duties.

Financial Services / Banking or Insurance sector background ideal.
