Financial Controller Location: BVI Business Sector:  Yachts Function:   Finance - Base Operations Reports to:   Commercial Finance Director Contract Terms:  Permanent The position of the BVI Financial Controller involves proactive management of the base financial controls and our global statutory and regulatory processes, ensuring the accurate execution of timely and accurate reporting. The role will report directly to the Commercial Finance Director with 6 direct reports. The Yachts business is an extremely exciting part of the Travelopia group of businesses operating a global fleet of over 900 boats, selling to a worldwide market. The position is a key role within the finance team and requires a confident self-starter. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Management and oversight of the production of the base monthly accounts including any local statutory requirements information relating to Payroll and Pensions Being the direct point of contact for audit ensuring finalisation of the audits and reports. Preparation of the BVI monthly forecast and prepare variance analysis including KPI's to support the business managers and directors Responsible for the preparation of the annual budgets and 3 - 5 Year plan To track and account for base capex expenditure and ensuring all relevant approval procedures are followed Manage the BVI finance team (5) and work closely with the base finance support team, organising roles and responsibilities, work plans, timetables and deadlines and aspects of staff management of the team including training and development, performance evaluations. Responsibility for the balance sheet reconciliation process including all of the stock held at the base. Produce monthly analysis of balance sheet and cash movements within the BVI's. Manage the BVI P&B services - 1 additional direct report. This will include margin control and regular review of stock control, product pricing and profitability Manage the administration of the BVI boat insurance and warranty claims working closely with the operations team Proactively seeking to maintain and improve all financial controls, ensuring the processes are fully documented, frequently reviewed, updated and communicated as appropriate across the Yachts group. Undertaking any other duties relevant to the key tasks and responsibilities identified by the Finance Director. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR CPA or similar qualification - strong PQE Audit background Experience with statutory accounts and regulatory returns Experience with foreign currencies and working with multiple entities Intermediate Excel expertise (i.e. v-lookup, pivot tables) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and manage various projects at once Ability to meet deadlines under pressure Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills Familiarity with Microsoft Suite preferred Experience with HFM, Dynamics AX 9.0 and Business Objects is beneficial
