What you'll do

As Service Specialist, you'll be providing SQL project and general database administration support to the Hosting Service Infrastructure and development communities, ensuring optimal performance, availability and security.

This will involve:

• Fulfilling all project related work requests and supporting on-going development and production activities
• Incident and problem management using standard toolsets
• Change management and implementation
• Mentoring and supporting less experienced colleagues

The skills you'll need

You'll need extensive SQL Server RDBMS skills, coupled with experience of providing installation, management and production support for SQL 2005, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017 and Clustering.

We'll also be looking for you to demonstrate:

• Practical experience of monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service
• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server Replication, specifically merge
• Experience of ESX
• An awareness of the ITIL framework
• In-depth knowledge of the project management lifecycle and its processes and procedures
• Experience of supporting and mentoring colleagues
