Deputy to the Financial Controller
Client Details
My client is an award winning multi-site retail brand who are 8% up and bucking the trend of the industry. This role sits in their central office in Pinner and reports to the Financial Controller.
Description
The successful Management Accountant will be responsible for:
Maintain, update and continuously develop planning, budgeting and forecasting systems and practices to enable and drive the future growth of including creating clear time lines and management budgeting and forecasting process within set time lines
Prepare monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecastsPrepare and review monthly management accountsCommunicate to internal and external stakeholders around management accountsAct as a business partner to P&L owners to identify and pursue opportunities to improve performance and act as a thought leader and coordinator with shareholder companiesArrange monthly review meetingsSupervise, motivate and manage any direct reportsSuggest updates and improvements for accounting systems (primarily Sage)Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunitiesCreate systems to prevent errors in MI data collection and calculationsReport to the Chief Information Officer and other Directors as applicable with timely and accurate financial informationAssist in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board membersSupport with year-end auditPreparation of year end reporting packAd hoc Financial analysis and reporting as and when requiredSupporting and working closely with Finance Controller and Finance teamDeputising in the Finance Controller's absenceAd hoc duties as required from time to time
Profile
The successful candidate will be
- A qualified accountant
- Sage 200 experience is a must
- Autonomous with the ability to be a self starter
- Ability to manage workload and multiple priorities within tight deadlines
- Highly numerate and strong analysis skills with strong attention to detail
- Strategic, solution-based thinker with an ability to think laterally
- Demonstrable Excel skills
Job Offer
The Management Accountant position comes with a salary of £45-50,000.
