Our client is a specialist business in the Life Sciences sector. Based in central London, a new role has been created to support the impressive growth of the business. A newly/recently qualified accountant is sought for a very hands-on role encompassing all elements of management and financial accounting. A very broad role, representing a great first role post-qualification.
The Role:
- Ownership of the day-to-day financial records
- Monitoring of the investment portfolio, including liaising with Investment Managers
- Handling invoices and bank payments across the Group
- Monthly payroll
- Support US subsidiary
- Production of monthly management information
- Valuation of investments in line with International Private Equity and Venture Capital Guidelines
- Active involvement in the preparation for external audit, including preparation of subsidiary financial statements
- Liaise with tax advisors for annual tax returns, payroll assistance and ad hoc queries
- Support, enhance and improve related finance processes and procedures
- Support the Group Financial Controller in project implementations across a wide range of topics
- Active involvement in third party relationships - with particular focus on auditors, tax advisors, banks and suppliers
- Proactively gain an understanding of new accounting standards, tax guidelines and the potential impact of these to the businesses
- Be able to answer and provide creative solutions to business challenges that may be encountered on a global basis
Requirements:
- You must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA preferred but not essential)
- Demonstrable accounts preparation experience
- Practice experience welcome with an audit background
- Be willing to be very hands-on and able to work as part of a small team
