POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Investment Controller will work closely with the European Investment Operations team to help drive value creation and improve investment returns. This role will lead the function responsible for all asset reporting and finance function in support of Debt and Real Estate portfolios. The Investment Controller will provide support by providing operational diligence, commercial support, strategic analysis and operational control information to support the portfolio management and investment decision-making process. Well-presented, logical and accurate reporting is a core component of the role. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining tools to drive standardisation and automation with existing reports and improve accuracy of data and timeliness of reporting.

Primary duties will include, but not limited to:

• Maintaining an accurate record of all requests, recommendations, and authorisations

• Liaising regularly with the servicers providing data pertinent to the assets held within the Investment Portfolio

• Tracking all expense reimbursements and compensation for the servicer. This will involve ascertaining whether expenses are for the servicer or shareholder account and calculating the performance-related compensation for the servicer

• Making commercial decisions up to a certain level on restructurings, re-arrangements and expenses; real estate and hotels are specific areas of relevance

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Qualified Accountant (CMA or ACA) with at least five years of relevant work experience, including responsibility for senior level reporting packs

• Exceptional analytical ability and quantitative skills and high level of attention to precision and details is essential

• Strong internal and external communication skills required to cover a wide group of stakeholders, including equity partners

• Ability to follow-through on all assignments and handle multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

• Knowledge of debt restructuring required; commercial finance or direct loan-servicing experience is an advantage

• Commercial understanding of multi-jurisdictional tax is helpful (VAT, withholding tax, CIT)

• Fluency in Southern / Eastern European languages is helpful, but not required
