Our client is a well-recognised, leading professional services firm based in Central Bristol.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior financial accountant in the preparation of the monthly P&L, balance sheet and associated variance reports to budget holders for the UK and all international offices where UK finance has the lead. Where appropriate take primary responsibility for certain cost centres.
  • Support the analysis of cost variances against budget, identification of cost saving possibilities and where possible deliver recommendations for improvements. Where appropriate take primary responsibility for certain key costs.
  • Support month end, balancing and reconciliation of key controls
  • Assist in the preparation of VAT and other tax returns for the firm and it's "subsidiary" companies and provide expert advice on VAT and related tax compliance issues
  • Support the Senior Financial Accountant in the preparation and completion of overhead budgets from UK Business Service budget holders and where applicable, International offices
  • Assist the firm's partnership accountant in the maintenance of partner current and capital accounts and dissemination of information to partners
  • Develop an understanding of key aspects of partnership remuneration and taxation and support the partnership accountant in the day to day liaison with partners and advisors
  • Contribute to improvements in key processes within financial accounting remit where necessary to deliver efficiencies and improved accuracy
  • Take an active role in the transition from the firm's current Practice Management System to a new platform, which is expected to commence during 2019
  • Provide ad-hoc support to projects and other initiatives, as required
    • Actively manage own personal training and development, identifying any suitable development opportunities.

    Profile

    Essential

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified or part qualified with extensive track record of experience
  • Desirable:

    • Professional services experience
    • Experience of change management
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Self-motivated and able to work within a team or on own initiative
    • Proactive and assertive
    • Collaborative, professional and flexible approach
