Role Objective


Responsible for implementing all accounting activities for primary healthcare centre, maintaining the General Ledger accounts, posting all financial transactions into the accounting system as well as preparing accurate and timely financial reports / statements in line with Accounting Policies & Guidelines and International Accounting Standards.


Key Responsibilities


Strategic



  • Ensure that day-to-day operations are in compliance with the department’s strategic goals


Operational Performance



  • Perform day-to-day accounting tasks such as posting journal entries into the accounting system, processing invoices and resolving discrepancies in the general ledger accounts

  • Crosscheck all invoice details before the preparation of payment vouchers and posting

  • Review budgets and assist the financial controller in preparing related budget documents

  • Conduct cost studies and implement cost allocation plans

  • Identify direct and indirect costs of hospital services in order to accurately determine the cost of services

  • Create and distribute invoices

  • Monitor and initiate daily bank transactions

  • Process bank deposits, including trips to banks if necessary

  • Update and monitor all general ledge accounts and ensure their reconciliation

  • Monitor all fixed asset and long-term asset accounts and ensure they are correctly depreciated

  • Ensure timely closing of accounts

  • Review all expense reports submitted by departments on a monthly basis

  • Communicate with project management and keep them updated with accumulated project cost

  • Ensure the filing system is accurate and effective and the retrieval of accounting documents is quick and efficient

  • Moderate lines of credit and verify all invoices

  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents

  • Ensure the confidentiality of financial documents in order to maintain customer trust

  • Analyze business operations, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations to project future events and provide advice to management

  • Analyze budgets and prepare reports to compare planned costs to actual costs

  • Assist his Manager in the preparation of financial statements.
