The Business
We're looking for a Surveillance Associate to join NatWest Markets in Manchester
  • You'll play a vital role in maintaining and improving the compliance control environment across NatWest Markets

What you'll do

You'll work within the trade surveillance team, monitoring trading activity for market abuse and other compliance breaches. You'll be a point of escalation and expertise for more junior members of the team, analysing and pursuing cases of potential misconduct.

We'll look to you to ensure that surveillance is carried out effectively and efficiently, and drive innovation and change. You'll also contribute to projects involving a range of senior stakeholders.

As well as this, your responsibilities will include:
  • Liaising with senior stakeholders on surveillance cases, as well as systems and controls
  • Providing expertise on compliance matters, particularly market abuse
  • Continually building and maintain your knowledge of surveillance and trading
  • Contributing to projects by developing MI, organising and running governance meetings and refining scenarios

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with an understanding of financial markets, particularly in the context of conduct issues. You'll work effectively both individually and as part of a team, and you'll have experience working with trading data.

You'll also demonstrate:
  • Experience analysing trade data
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in writing
  • An good understanding of trading and sales, and some understanding of compliance and market abuse
  • The enthusiasm to learn and continually develop your knowledge
