Accounts Assistant

Job Purpose : The Accounts Assistant role is a key role within the Accounts department and is responsible for processing and managing the flow of transactions, invoices and payments in the Accounts office on a daily basis, ensuring that supplier accounts are up to date.  Reporting to an Finance Manager, the role-holder will work within the Accounts department team.   Key Responsibilities: The Accounts Assistant will be required to carry out the following tasks: ·       Maintain Purchase ledgers ·       Processing supplier invoices & credit notes ·       Processing rebates ·       Management of the end-to-end Rebate Collection process ·       Rebate analysis ·       Account reconciliations & reporting, as per accounts timetable ·       Resolution of all supplier queries effectively and efficiently ·       Contacting supplier by phone/email for outstanding payment ·       Supplier Payments ·       New System testing ·       Production of all relevant reporting requirements ·       Proactively deal with issues with a view to preventing similar issues going forward. ·       Support and Liaise with other members of Accounts department ·       Any other ad hoc duties as could be expected of an Accounts Payable    Key Capabilities:   •        2-3 years Accounts Assistant experience with fundamental understanding of processes and principles ·       Ambitious, energetic and motivated with ability to adapt to new challenges ·       A team player with excellent attention to detail   ·       Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment ·       Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills ·       Advanced Microsoft Office/I.T. skills essential ·       Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines ·       Ability to prioritise own workload ·       Must have a “can do” attitude ·       Flexible attitude to working hours (month and quarter end activities require additional hours) ·       Experience of Accounts packages ·       Study towards Professional Qualification will be advantage
