Financial Controller (Associate/AVP)

The role is within the Corporate Reporting and Control (CR&C) group within Finance. There are 3 main teams which cover: Financial Control, Regulatory Control and Finance Resource Management. These teams are supported by Accounting Policy and Regulatory Policy teams who sit alongside and are on hand to assist.

The successful candidate will manage the delivery of significant Financial Control deliverables, overseeing the implementation of significant accounting standard changes, reviewing new product proposals and managing relationships with the regulator and senior management.

We are looking for candidates with the following profile and competences

• Qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA)
• Strong technical grounding in financial accounting
• Strong written and oral communication skills; able to explain accounting concepts and approaches in layman's terms to stakeholders
• Analytical and inquisitive
• Attention to detail - accurate deliverables without loss of clarity, timeliness or sight of the bigger picture
• Team leader who is collaborative and innovative
• Self-starter

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

Essential

• Qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA)
• Strong technical grounding in financial accounting
• Knowledge of Investment Banking business
• Experience in delivering new reporting requirements and process change
• Relevant management experience

Desirable

• Experience in providing financial information to business/senior management
