Financial Accountant To apply, you must be qualified (ACA / ACCA/ CIMA), with detailed exposure to both financial and statutory accounting as well as Tax/ VAT. The role will report to the CFO and assist with the day to day running, production and review of multiple sets of financial accounts, tax filings and returns and the setup and ongoing administration and compliance. The role will include but not be limited to: Day to day cost control and management of all audited accounts. Produce and review financial and statutory accounts for multiple companies. Assisting the CFO in the day to day management of external financial advisors and reviewing/signing off accounts. Review and produce VAT returns and TAX comps and prepare all statutory returns. P&L and balance sheet review and analysis. Ensuring compliance of filings and returns and reviewing for sign off. Cash-flow forecasting and budgeting. Responsibilities Production and delivery of monthly reporting, including KPIs, in accordance with delivery timelines. Performance of month end reconciliations in accordance with delivery timelines including fixed assets and intangibles. Assist with identification of appropriate and consistent cost codes. Performing cash matching and coding of transactions and clearing credit card transactions. Maintain fixed asset register (additions, disposals, and depreciation calculations). Calculating, preparing and posting journals including deferred income, accruals and payroll. Prepare and analyze draft month end reporting for discussion with Finance Manager and prepare month end commentary. Review full balance sheet balances and reconciliations. Identify financial control environment or process and procedural improvements so as to create a more robust environment or drive efficiencies. Assist reporting annuals requirements and statutory audit. Involvement with financial system enhancements as required. What we are looking for A candidate with highly relevant experience. Preferably qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or undergoing qualifications, from a first tier accounting firm or within a first rate finance team. More than 3 years of experience. Strong technical financial accounting knowledge with good written and oral communication skills is required. Inquisitive and analytical mind, you thrive on tackling complex problems, and constantly building and refining process with rigor and diligence. Eagle-eyed ability to spot trends and pick out inaccuracies. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel. Ability to present information clearly and concisely. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Well organized, able to multitask and be a team player. Not afraid to challenge the status quo.
