Actuarial Consultant | Bristol | 6 Months

Role:

We currently have an exciting opportunity with a leading Financial Services organisation, based in Bristol.The role is within the Change Management team that is part of the Actuarial Change function. The team is primarily responsible for understanding change requirements involving the deterministic Prophet Liability model, managing the end-to-end testing process (release testing) for these changes and ensuring business readiness before their promotion to the live production environment.

This specific role is focussed on the development of various out-of-model adjustments (OoMAs) that are applied to the modelled results. The majority of these are based on Excel spreadsheets, which require development to make them ready for IFRS 17.

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with internal customers to understand the various OoMAs that sit in their teams
• Collaborate with other Change teams to understand any linkages with other work packages
• Build and understanding for how each OoMA needs to be developed to meet IFRS 17 requirements
• Build and test OoMAs
• Produce clear, concise testing and process documentation
• Perform business readiness to ensure the updated OoMA is suitable for deployment into the live environment

Knowledge and Skills

• Part/Qualified Actuary
• Strong knowledge of Prophet
• Good knowledge of and ability to apply actuarial concepts and techniques
• Good Excel skills required (VBA not essential)
