Position Summary: The position is responsible for planning and executing financial audit assignments to ensure compliance with standard accounting practice and adherence to the Company's policies and procedures. The incumbent supervises assigned audit staff to ensure adherence with audit programmes and schedules and that information is secured and accurate and legal requirements are met and reported on in a timely manner. The position also oversees the improvement of processes which aim to drive efficiency. Major Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): The drafting and recommendation of annual audit programme and developing specific strategies for audits Evaluating the progress of these audits and ensuring timeliness of completion Presenting the results of audits to key persons in the organisation, outlining deficiencies identified and the explanations received Coordinating quarterly audit reviews of the financial statements for presentation based on specific timelines Evaluating business processes to identify gaps and find opportunities which can lead to improvements Coordinate improvement projects across the organisation in order to reengineer processes Setting specific targets for audit team and the initiation of follow-up action Appraising direct reports and identifying training needs along with recommended training initiatives Periodically conducts site visits to make visual assessments Minimum Requirements: BSc Finance or equivalent Recognized Accounting designation Training in research methods and auditing techniques and practices Five (5) years' experience in auditing and accounts Competencies Expert knowledge of auditing techniques and practices Ability to interact with all levels of the organization Excellent analytical and report writing skills Knowledge of process improvement techniques Well developed communication, presentation, supervisory and time management skills Applications, stating qualification and experience should be submitted no later than October 17, 2018
