Title: Compensation and Job Evaluation Specialist Work type: Contractor Work location: Barbados or Trinidad Role overview: The successful candidate is responsible for supporting the completion of analysis and development of recommendations on new or modified compensation programmes, conducting end to end job assessments and evaluations, as well as client business analysis that supports business goals and market competitive practices. Responsibilities: 1.      Performs quantitative and qualitative research and analysis on existing and proposed compensation programmes, including analysing international and regional compensation trends, analysing “what-if” scenarios, and developing costing models to determine the financial impact of base salary and incentive plan changes. 2.       Leads the end to end administration of job assessment and comprehensive job evaluations for client groups. 3.      Supports the maintenance of the compensation database ensuring that data is current; accurately preparing all compensation letters and statements in a timely manner; dealing with queries from the business relating to the process; preparing management reports relating to the process; and continually improving the process to make it more robust and easier for the business to manage/understand. 4.      Conducts internal and external market research by analysing compensation surveys, participating in international, regional and country specific general compensation surveys and developing and conducting ad-hoc market/compensation surveys to ensure that data is available for areas as required. 5.      Works with the LCI and client team to recommend changes/enhancements to current compensation programmes, job descriptions, policies and procedures to ensure that programmes are market competitive, internally equitable, cost effective, aligned with policies and business objectives. 6.      Works to provide compensation analysis, modelling and costing of various compensation scenarios.  Sources and maintains relevant country specific market data, for example, economic statistics, inflation rates, competitive information to further enhance the process. 7.      Prepares summaries of analysis, reports and/or presentations that include analysis and recommendations for management and clients as necessary on compensation related issues.  Participates in presenting analysis and recommendations to management and clients. 8.      Keeps apprised of local employment laws and regulations related to compensation in order to ensure compliance of compensation programmes and to ensure that compensation programmes remain competitive and current. 9.      Supports ad-hoc compensation and job assessment related projects as necessary Requirements: 5-7 years demonstrated progressive experience in an analytical position Experience in Compensation and Job Analysis is a requirement Knowledge of the Hay and or Point Factor approach to Job assessment and evaluation will be an asset Undergraduate degree in Business, Human Resources or Finance subject area Demonstrated advanced knowledge and experience in MS Excel and MS Access including visual basic applications Project management and business analysis methodologies General knowledge / understanding of compensation Demonstrated strong MS Word and MS PowerPoint skills Strong mathematical aptitude Advanced analytical skills Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills How to apply: Please submit your application including an updated CV and mention “Application for the Compensation and Job Evaluation Specialist” in the title.
