Chief Financial Officer
P RINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Partners with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on all operational and strategic issues as they arise, provides strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board based on financial analysis and projections, cost improvement measures and revenue/expense analysis. Establish and enforce accounting and finance policies, procedures and internal controls to safeguard the integrity of the financial reports issued by the finance and accounting department. Lead the finance and accounting department to ensure the financial records of the company are prepared accurately and timely with the objective of providing monthly management accounts within two weeks of the month end and audited annual financial statements within 3 months of the year end. Ensure the Company is in compliance with all legal, tax and other regulatory requirements including monthly, quarterly or annual payments and filing requirements. Preparation of the monthly board package for submission to the Board by the end of the third week of each month. Oversee preparation of annual budgets for Board approval that is aligned with the Company's strategic plans. Oversee the implementation and adherence to budgets in conjunction with other department heads. Analyse and report on variances of actual costs to budgets ensuring accountability is tracked at the departmental level. Develop and manage banking relationships to ensure the Company's liquidity and financing requirements in the short to long term are met. Monitor and ensure the company is in compliance with all financial covenants. The CFO is ultimately responsible for the following areas as they relate to members of the accounting and finance and information technology teams: i. Recruitment and dismissal ii. Organization of workload/responsibilities iii. Team building and personnel development iv. Training and coaching to ensure the requisite skills are developed to effectively execute the objectives of the departments v. Evaluation and documentation of performance on a routine basis Directs, coordinates and oversees the operations of the purchasing and inventory management in conjunction with the plant manager and retail manager to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations in order to maximize value. Negotiates pricing and business terms with an aggressive stance on cost reduction and balancing risk to the company. Develops and maintains vendor and other third party relationships that are key to achieving the Company's strategic and operational objectives. Drive the strategic direction of the IT infrastructure roadmap with a specific focus on operational efficiencies, optimization improvements with zero downtime and fault tolerance across all departments including finance, retail stores and the central baking facility. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: ACCA/CA/CPA/ Qualification MBA will be considered and asset. At least 5 years senior accounting experience within a medium to large organization post qualification Experience in the manufacturing and/or retail industries would be considered an asset.
