About the opportunity:
The purpose of this role is to assist Senior Finance Manager, FM Corporates in maintaining the financial control processes for a number of FM corporate entities and in completing the financial accounting and reporting for those entities.
The FM Corporates team plays a critical role in:
Delivery of results for FM business in the timely manner
Ensuring all FM licensed entities comply with all regulatory requirements at all times
Rebate process.
The team requires a dynamic, hard-working, flexible and accountable individual with an eye for detail who can develop strong relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and can deliver high quality work on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial accounting for FM entities including:
General ledger, reconciliations and work papers
Tax effect accounting
FM consolidation
FM statutory cash flow
FM reconciliation of management profit to statutory cash flow from operating activities
Monthly BAS returns
Monthly income tax returns
Transfer pricing
Invoicing managed investment schemes and institutional clients
Monitoring the collection of receivables and the settlement of payables as part of working capital management;
Settlement of intercompany balances
Assist in ensuring all FM licensed entities comply with all regulatory requirements at all times
Finance owner of the entire rebate process including:
Calculation of rebate back payments when required
Calculation of monthly and quarterly manual rebates
Preparation of accruals in Corporates and Boutiques ensuring completeness and accuracy
Preparation of statutory accounts for the FM entities including:
Annual accounts
Notes to the accounts for group reporting
Independently liaising with auditors
Preparation of board papers for FM entities
Maintain strong relationships and communication with:
Funds Management managers and staff
Taxation
Compliance and Operational Risk
Company Secretarial and Legal
Client service
Middle office
Payroll
IT
Other adhoc items:
Adhoc projects
Continuous process improvements (Agility project)
Skills and experience:
Relevant tertiary degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
CA / CPA qualified
Minimum of 2 years' practical accounting experience, preferably in Funds Management
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge
General tax and tax effect accounting knowledge
Time management skills to prioritise workload and multiple tasks and ensure the deliverables are met on time
Strong attention to detail to ensure that deliverables are met with a high degree of accuracy
Analytical and problem solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently but also collaboratively with various teams across the company
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
