Senior Manager, Finance & Accounting OVERVIEW: KPMG in Jamaica seeks to identify a Senior Manager, Finance and Accounting to lead and direct the finance and accounting function shared services unit. This includes but is not limited to General Accounting, Payroll, Reporting, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, and Travel and Expense management.  The position will be responsible for stakeholder relationship management, and people and performance management within the F&A function.  The Senior Manager will also ensure that the teams perform in a collaborative and proactive manner, to continuously improve efficiencies and service delivery. The position will be assigned to our rapidly growing KPMG Jamaica Expanded Support Services (JESS) which provides services to a major client in the United States. Profile The successful candidate should possess strong project and people management experience along with advanced accounting or auditing experience.  Specifically, the candidate should demonstrate: strong technical and people management skills to lead multiple cross functional teams performing various finance and accounting processes  and support their professional development; the ability to engender confidence in stakeholders, teams and executives the ability to  effectively work across various support groups to maintain and optimize delivery performance; the ability to identify and implement improvements in collaboration with key stakeholders; the ability to exercise professional skepticism and provide critical insights; and strong analytical, critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills. Core functions Reporting directly to the JESS Operations Associate Director, the Senior Manager , Finance and Accounting will lead the F&A shared services processes to ensure that operational objectives are achieved.  Core job responsibilities will be to: direct, evaluate and plan in collaboration with key stakeholders all activities within the JESS F&A work stream, ensuring service delivery that is in line with operational and contractual performance standards; monitor, analyse and assess the performance of the work stream  and recommend and develop procedures or processes to improve efficiency and product quality delivery by the team; prepare and deliver special and complex reports on performance analysis of the department against contractual parameters and company standards; and support the recruitment of team members, provide leadership, train, coach and develop assigned personnel including setting performance criteria and conducting performance appraisals. Professional qualification The successful candidate should possess: a Master's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent professional accreditation; and a minimum of 10 years progressive and relevant accounting experience, in a people management capacity and in a cross functional F&A environment.
