Through a combined international, regional, and local tax approach, EY tax professionals help companies understand the important linkage between tax planning and their business imperatives. We then provide a wide array of tax services to help these companies identify and implement winning tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives. We currently have a career opportunity for a Staff professional within our Tax Business services space. Responsibilities Participate in executing work within a compliance group by assisting with forecasting future compliance work, delivering work effectively, and resolving client questions. Team with tax professionals to provide comprehensive tax solutions Research complex tax theory and positions, and apply them to specific client needs Determine all information required to ensure/complete accurate tax compliance products within the budget. Formulate a plan to gather/communicate information Determine areas of exposure and adapt to challenges in the compliance process Provide timely and high-quality services and work products that exceed client expectations Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to moderately complex situations Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery; keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments when unassigned; proactively seeking opportunities to provide tax services; challenging traditional procedures used in the past; and attempting to find new approaches To qualify, candidates must have: a Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Economics (or any related field) and/ or completed or pursuing a professional certification e.g., CPA, ACCA, LEC, CA etc at least 1-2 years of relevant experience within a Finance and/or Accounting environment with exposure to Payroll, Individual and Corporation tax. working knowledge of current and emerging tax issues as well as tax laws, with the ability to apply knowledge a commitment to learning in a tax technology environment proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, Microsoft Excel in particular excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving ability strong written and verbal communication skills * General Tax and Payroll knowledge will be an asset.
