Responsibilities:
- Leading and delivering technical advisory projects and research on IFRS as it relates to insurance
- Lead and deliver on a variety of large to medium sized, advisory engagements, playing a key role in interpreting new requirements specifically for the insurance companies with whom we are working and liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders Manage and coach multi-disciplinary teams
- Thought leadership to enhance market profile and coverage
- Create and contribute to high quality thought leadership for publications, training events and seminars
- Take a leading role in the identification of business development opportunities and the preparation of client proposals
- Supporting the internal knowledge network
- Develop an internal network to provide support to other parts of the firm Prepare and deliver presentations and seminars on technical topics both internally and externally
Candidate Requirements:
- Is interested in applying their technical accounting expertise to a multitude of tasks and variety of projects in a client facing role
- Is a self-starter who is enthusiastic about technical accounting challenges
- Monitors and upholds high quality of service and products to clients
- Builds reputation through the quality of work, knowledge and experience
- Analyses problems and innovates through proposing and delivering solutions Has the ability to investigate, evaluate and integrate information
- Sustains a high level of drive whilst working both as a team member and autonomously
- Has strong leadership skills and is keen to develop and coach less experienced staff member
Experience:
- A thorough working knowledge of insurance accounting, IFRS 17 and insurance-related financial reporting
- Experience of IFRS 17 impact assessment is preferable
- A strong understanding of and experience working with or in the insurance industry
- Consulting and professional services experience is advantageous but not essential
- Experience managing large to medium sized projects and assignments
- Strong communication and presentation skills including an ability to communicate complex ideas to clients both written and verbally
- Educated to degree level or equivalent is essential
- A professional accounting qualification is advantageous
