Asia Pacific Risk Management encompasses a broad spectrum of risk disciplines to provide independent risk oversight function across all lines of businesses operating in Asia Pacific.
CIB Risk F&BM is seeking a VP-level Business Manager based in Hong Kong as part of the Business Management team to support CIB Market Risk, Quantitative Research and Chief Risk Office. The candidate will report to the Asia Pacific Risk Business Manager.

Key responsibilities:
  • Drive Business Strategy
    • Act as trusted advisor and counterweight to risk stripe head(s)
    • Establish business strategy and priorities (in conjunction with risk stripe head)
    • Own or ensure delivery of strategic business initiatives
    • Align risk teams and support groups (Fin, Tech, Reporting, Middle Office, Legal, HR) to risk stripe priorities
    • Ensure risk stripe strategy considers market structure and regulatory changes
    • Communicate risk stripe strategy, performance and priorities
    • Drive regional and cross-business partnerships
    • Partner with corporate risk when possible
  • Manage Business Risks
    • Identify, escalate and mitigate risks that could impair our ability to analyze risk
    • Own the regulatory agenda and deliverables
    • Risks within new product build out (participate in NBIA process)
    • Oversee that an effective control environment exists
    • Develop and monitor effective business continuity plans
    • Ensure risk stripe is correctly positioned on firmwide/cross-risks projects
  • Optimize Business Performance and Planning
    • Lead annual risk stripe budget process (in conjunction with Planning and Analysis)
    • Monitor expenses with goal of identifying reductions
    • Ensure optimal resource budgeting and allocations to achieve risk stripe priorities (including direct and allocated expenses)
    • Oversee investment/productivity initiatives across the end-to-end risk stripe to achieve multi-year targets
    • Develop quarterly business reviews
    • Oversight for real estate needs and space planning
Qualifications:
  • Solid work experience in financial services
  • Business Management, Finance and/or Risk experience preferred
  • Knowledge/experience of Markets/Investor Services products/business a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Good judgment, maturity and poise to enable interaction/influencing of senior level staff
  • Thoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusions
  • Strong project management skills
  • Self-starter able to prioritize key tasks effectively
  • Disciplined approach to managing processes and controls
  • Energetic, self-motivated and effective under pressure - must enjoy the challenge of working within a fast-paced and demanding working environment.
  • Advance MS Excel and Powerpoint skills (PitchPro and charting)
