Position: Business Portfolio Analyst - Hireco Group of Companies   Universe: -All Hireco Related entities operating in the UK and Ireland (The Group) -Group activities include: Ownership, rental and sale of commercial transport equipment (trailers and trucks) and the servicing of its asset base. The business manages an asset base of c. Stg 60m. has combined revenue of c. Stg 36m and pre tax profits of c. Stg4.5m -The Group uses a mixture of on and off balance sheet methods to finance its fleet and to structure leases for its customer base. The Group enjoys credit lines of c. Stg 57m   Position/Role Statement -Given the scale of the business and its growth ambitions the group is looking to add a Business analyst to its Finance team. -The Role of the position holder will be: To analyse and interpret key Group data in order to inform senior management of key trends and issues, latent and emerging, across the businesses.    Key Responsibilities - Analyse and interpret key Group data to inform senior management of key issues, latent and emerging across the businesses,  to include; o   Analysis of key elements of individual deal structures to help identify trends, anomalies, opportunities and risks across the portfolio o   Assessment of the type and range of underlying counterparty risk. o   Identification of key concentration risks in the portfolio by counterparty, deal maturity, residual/bullet payment maturities, interest rate risk, asset type etc. o   Analysis of cost structures in the business o   Analysis of revenue streams by activity and asset type -Analyse competitor and market data to facilitate meaningful comparatives with the businesses' key performance indictors and financial ratios. -Where relevant data is not available or is not being captured at source, feed back the need to the relevant business head to ensure relevant data gaps are managed and closed. -Create an effective format for the communication of the findings from the data analysis which facilitates senior management discussion and appropriate action   Reporting lines -The position will report to the Head of Finance for the Group   Requirements -Ideally an ACCA or ACA Accountant with proven experience in a fast paced working environment; -Minimum of 2 years' experience in a commercially focused analytical role -Financial analysis or management accountant experience; -Ability to work to in a fast paced and changing environment -Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy; -Team player with ability to communicate effectively; -Advanced Excel proficiency is a pre-requisite. -Minimum of 2 years' experience in a commercially focused analytical role -Proactive approach to work and have the ability to work off your own initiative to scrutinize performance and come with suggestions, rather than wait to be asked -Has confidence to challenge managers and can provide leadership when introducing new ways of working -Team player who is flexible and adaptable in their approach to suit the audience
