The recently established ECL Production team in Financial Control has responsibility for reporting IFRS 9 ECL outcomes, providing a consistent and comprehensive level of insight, analysis and sensitivities to the Business led ECL Committee and the ECL Group Credit Committee to support the ECL approval process.  The accounting standard IFRS 9 became effective on 1 January 2018 and changes the manner in which credit risk management and provisioning is managed in the group through the development of a new expected credit loss framework. A vacancy currently exists at Assistant Manager level within the ECL Production Unit in Financial Control, Finance.  The key objective of the role, working closely with colleagues across Finance, Risk and the Business areas, is to support the effective reporting of appropriate ECLs for the bank, providing assurance on the ECL methodologies and adequacy of ECLs by understanding the key dynamics and sensitivities. The holder will report to the Head of Reporting & Insights in the ECL Production Unit. Responsibilities: Deliver monthly ECL reports and meet with relevant Business areas to develop insights and understanding of emerging trends and potential ECL outcomes. Prepare comprehensive presentations on a monthly and quarterly basis on ECLs to different audiences inter alia:  ECL Committees, Group Credit Committee, Group Audit Committee and the Leadership Team. This includes commentary on key ECL metrics, portfolio trends, sensitivity analysis and emerging risks. Define ECL related MI requirements and work with Risk and Business segments to achieve delivery. Conduct independent analysis to determine the drivers of actual performance and develop scenarios of potential future outcomes which will contribute to ECL planning and forecasting. The Candidate: Minimum 3 years of analytical and business experience in Banking/Financial Services. Relevant university and postgraduate qualification would be an advantage. Demonstrated capabilities in effectively communicating with Senior Management through presentations and reporting consistently delivering to a high standard. Strong organisational awareness / knowledge to effectively network across the organisation to develop and maintain professional business relationships.
