Description

Key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:

- Maintaining the financial records of the hotel and associated companies by accurately recording the day to day financial transactions

- Assist with the production of the management accounts of the hotel including balance sheet and revenue recons and all other month end duties

- Assist with the annual budget uploads and preparation of Budget Packs

- Prepare bank reconciliations and cash flows once a week and VAT returns on a quarterly basis

- To be fully familiar with the computerised systems used by STM in the recording and reporting of the financial accounting, and train Finance staff as appropriate

- To have a thorough working knowledge of all the contents of the accounts payable, revenue and payroll department manual and audit the execution of the Policies and Procedures in all positions

- Supervision and development of the utilisation and maintenance of Property Management System, Credit Card settlement system, Accounting Software and any other systems used in Finance

- Assist with the preparation of schedules for Statutory Accounting purposes

- Liaising with external accountants, auditors and third party support companies

- Completion of ad hoc projects

- Deputising for the Director of Finance in their absence

Profile

The successful candidate:

- Strong Excel skills including V look-ups / Pivot tables

- Sage expereience

- Retail or hospitality experience

- Outgoing personality who enjoys working in a high pressured but enjoyable environment

- Strong communication skills as discussing Financial information with a variety of managers

- Team player with a hands on approach to work

- Preferably AAT qualified / ACCA or CIMA trainee or equivalent experience

- Some knowledge of Payroll

- Well organised and excellent attention to detail

- Methodical and focused
