My client, a leading player in the brokerage industry, is currently looking for a Head of Internal Audit. This is an exciting regional role that reports directly to the group Chief Internal Auditor. The ideal candidate should have 10 - 15 years of internal audit experience in the financial services industry, with strong track record of team leading experience and stakeholders management.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Group Internal Audit Risk Assessment
  • Lead, plan and review audit engagements to ensure that audit activities are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the plan and IA standards
  • Uses excellent communication, leadership and strong management skills to influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manages a team of professionals. Recruits staff, develops talent, builds effective teams
  • Formulate internal audit programs in order that all aspects of transactions are audited
  • Issue instructions for smooth, effective and efficient working of the departments and take corrective action as necessary to ensure that approved plans and goals are met
  • Identify key trends and issues and prepare audit report and integrate audit results for socialisation in risk committees, partaking in governance committees and being involved in board committee discussions

Qualifications
  • Degree in accountancy, Finance or relevant qualifications, with at least 10 years of experience in the financial services sector and Internal Audit
  • Strong communication, resilient and stakeholder's management skills
  • Complex decision making within time frame involving known and uncertain variables
  • Strong fundamental knowledge in the principles of governance, risk management and controls
  • Good team leader, self-driven and ability to work independently
