CFO Singapore, Financial Institution

The Chief Financial Officer - Singapore provides full operational and financial support to the Singapore legal entities. You will manage the entire finance function in Singapore and be the chief financial spokesperson for the group of companies in Singapore. The CFO reports directly to the COO locally, assisting with all strategic and operational matters as they relate to finance.

Key responsibilties include:

• Manages accounting and finance team in Singapore which looks after a broad number of legal entities in Singapore; this includes advising on accounting practices, preparing budgets and analysis, reviewing various financial and regulatory reporting, working closely with Tax and Internal Audit on all matters
• Direct liaison with Group Finance on all financial matters impacting group results e.g. reporting, budgets, forecasts
• Directs the financial strategy, planning and forecasting process for certain business units
• Analyses and reports on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth and financial strategy

• Participates in the development of any new business initiatives, responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

• assisting the Singapore CEO and COO in identifying new business opportunities working closely with direct business heads and new funding opportunities working in conjunction with the Group Treasurer,
• the drafting of prospective budgets and forecasts at business and entity level,
• determining cost effectiveness of prospective service or product delivery,
• understanding the local regulations and any impacts they might have on the new business
• Oversees the management and financial reporting activities for the entities
• Financial assessment and appraisals of investments and new products
• Formulating and implementation of policies and procedures to support the businesses in Singapore as well as financial control around legal entities
• Directs the local treasury-related activities: management of cash, liquidity, foreign exchange
• Main point of contact for both internal and external auditors and regulatory bodies
• Effectively manages a team of both qualified and non-qualified finance professionals, including hiring, performance management and compensation reviews
• Manages various finance projects locally and globally as they impact the team and entities under management

Requirements

• University graduate or above in related disciplines and CPA qualified
• Over 10 years' experience working in a global investment bank or similar financial institutions in an accounting practice at a Director, Controller or Chief Financial Officer level
• Experienced in the Asian region having managed a Finance and/or Accounting function which covers numerous jurisdictions
• Experienced in leading a team of qualified accountants
• Experienced in the fostering and cultivation of business opportunities and partnerships
• Ability to create and assess financial statements and budgeting documents
• Eager to drive change and work independently
• Language: Mandarin skills desirable
