Financial Accountant - Banking - City Centre

My client is a leading multinational bank. They are looking for hire a newly qualified accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong IFRS exposure and US GAAP experience. This is an exciting opportunity to gain excellent experience in a leading banking institution. Exposure to reg reporting, balance sheets and reporting into Group Controller. Responsibilities: Ownership of the preparation of daily substantiation of all on balance sheet products to ensure the books and records are correct Process review: is responsible for the systemic and regular review of processes for the Financial Reporting deliverables in order to identify and implement improvements to enhance control and better utilize systems capabilities Prepare, review and/or verify accuracy of journal entries and perform analysis of general ledger variances and other financial analysis Preparation of all US regulatory returns.  This will include both the preparation of current deliverables and the enhancement of  current processes Preparation of the IFRS statutory accounts Support other ad hoc finance tasks as required Provides leave of absence cover for the production of other deliverables within the department as appropriate in order to satisfy internal control framework requirements Requirements: Qualified ACA or ACCA accountant Progressive track record of experience and achievement within the banking sector including extensive  knowledge of banking products Demonstrated capacity for working with minimal direction to deliver desired results Team player with strong advocacy and interpersonal skills Comprehensive experience with preparation and review of US regulatory returns desirable Excellent IT skills [excel, including pivots, lookups and preferably macros;] Strong attention to detail is a prerequisite; Strong problem solving skills with the ability to identify solutions and create more efficient ways of working Excellent communication skills with experience of stakeholder management and partnering with senior business leaders Honesty and integrity in all aspects of their work
