An opportunity has arisen for a Sales Ledger Manager to join a renowned Science and Research organisation in Bedford. The role offers a mixture of Reporting, Reconciliation and Sales Ledger responsibilities, with full study support available for the successful candidate.

Description
Key responsibilities of the successful Sales Ledger Manager include:
Assisting the Financial Controller through:
- Preparing monthly Sales Ledger reports highlighting aged and bad debt
- Adding value to the organisation's decision making through analysis of outstanding debt
- Driving through improvements to the department
- Conducting regular reviews of group aged debts and presenting strategies to senior management
Leading the Sales Ledger team through:
- Line management of the Credit Control team
- Setting objectives and carrying out appraisals of the team
- Having an active role in training and developing the team
- Ensuring proper monthly closedown routines are observed
Profile
The successful Sales Ledger Manager will have:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A-C or equivalent
- Studying a recognised Accounting qualification such as ACCA or CIMA
- Recent examples of continuous professional development
- Experience of working in a busy Accounting function
- Some management and/or training experience
- Excellent IT skills
- Attentive with an eye for detail
- A clear and effective communicator
- Preferably educated to degree level
- Preferably working knowledge of Agresso Business World
- Preferably experience in producing month-end accounts
