We now have an opportunity for a Financial Controller to lead our accounts team and to manage the finance function across both Hotels. This role requires the delivery of professional financial & commercial acumen for the running of these fast pace, independently owned businesses in the short, medium and long term. The main duties of this role: To advise and update the Managing Director and General Managers on financial market conditions and make recommendations based on analysis of them To deliver and communicate quarterly and annual results and accompanying analytical reports, in line with company requirements To prepare annual Budgets for both hotels and report on these to both internal and external stakeholders, in line with the company requirements Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts to strict deadlines, including monthly accounts, commentary on performance, cash flows, balance sheet reporting with supporting schedules To work with the General Managers to monitor costs and deliver alternative products and services where necessary Responsible for ensuring robust internal controls are in place and working effectively within the company To advise and update the Managing Director and General Managers of tax implications and make recommendations Preparation of Company Tax returns Preparation of audit files and oversee the annual audit Work alongside management in preparing ad-hoc financial reports and managing projects were required Day to day management of a busy Accounts Department A full Job Description is available on request Skills, Knowledge and Experience Qualified Accountant with 3+ years PQE (preferably in a hospitality environment) Strong systems experience with ability to pick up new technology with ease Attention to detail and an ability to analyse and interrogate data as well as demonstrating an ability to focus on higher-level overview Good broad knowledge of tax (VAT, Corporation tax) Commercial awareness with ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of wider business factors Excellent planning and organisation skills and the ability to work within agreed timescales Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment Self-motivated with ability to resolve queries and issues About the Business: Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa is a four star Hotel with 145 bedrooms, The Ivy Restaurant, Terrace Lounge, Sadlier Bar, Cellar Bar, Seoid Spa and large conference & banqueting suites.
