Client Details

Our client have been in operation for over 20 years and offer all types of commercial and business insurance advice and protection. They have grown significantly since they started and have doubled in size over the last 2 years.

Description

The principal responsibilities are:

• to ensure the integrity of the books of prime entry and to produce accurate management accounts

• to maintain robust client accounts

• to ensure that the budgets, re-forecasts and management accounts are produced accurately and on time

• to work with the management team to ensure that the company operates adequate systems of financial control and prudential management

• to ensure that the payroll controls are in place and that the payroll is run accurately and to time, the company's sales billing and credit control systems, and all the financial aspects of purchasing and accounts payable, including the company's procurement, expenses and petty cash systems are well managed

• to ensure that the information provided to underwriters and appointed representatives is presented in the format required, in time and accurately

• to develop and implement enhancements to the company's approach to internal audit

• to procure appropriate accounting and information systems

• to liaise with the external auditors on accounting matters
• to manage the system (SAGE 50) and implement any necessary changes and process improvement

Profile

To be successful in this role you must have worked in a small-medium sized business before and have hands on experience of owning a Finance function.

You will be a strong management accountant and have a keen eye for detail, able to spot risk and opportunity in a small business.

You must also possess good systems knowledge (ideally Sage 50) and strong Excel skills.
