My client is seeking a Legal Cashier to join their busy Finance Department. This is a new permanent role within a small cashiering team. The role reports to the Chief Cashier and consists of a varied workload and responsibilities.
Applicants must have previous legal cashiering experience gained within a law firm and have knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules.

My client is a leading UK-based law firm focussed on the Private Client and Technology, Media and Entertainment Sectors.
Description
Responsibilities will include:
- Dealing with client/office account receipts, petty cash distribution and reconciliation
- Assisting with client/office payments through Bankline
- Dealing with transfers of funds between accounts and matters
- Providing covering support, maintaining the accounts payable system for firm suppliers and subsequent weekly payment runs to vendors
- Posting various journals e.g. courier invoices
- Filing rent deposit statements
- Processing HMCT & Land Registry payments
- Assisting with staff/partners expenses and payments
- Helping to keep Finance Department filing up to date (electronic/paper)
- Assisting with other ad-hoc tasks as required including:
- Chasing lawyers to clear time recorded under "miscellaneous" category
- Updating department reports for starters/leavers
- Preparing spreadsheets - rate conversions etc
- Reviewing residual balances on client account
- Generating zero balance reports for PAs/Secretaries to action
Profile
Applicants must have previous legal cashiering experience gained within a law firm and have knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules.

- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Good numeracy skills
- Ability to priorities and work under pressure to tight individual and team deadlines
- Proven ability to deal with confidential matters
- Self-motivated and a willingness to learn and expand knowledge and skills
- Flexibility towards new technologies and changes in working practices
- Good computer skills - knowledge of Aderant or Elite systems would be desirable and competent in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
- Detailed knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules
