Accounting Team Lead KPMG in Jamaica seeks to identify an Accounting Team Lead who will be responsible for leading and directing a team of investigative and compliance accounting personnel. The position has primary responsibility for conducting audits on expense claims based on expenditure patterns and ensuring that expense claims comply with internal policy guidelines. The position will be assigned to our rapidly growing KPMG Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS) which provides services to a major client in the United States. Profile The successful candidate should possess strong project and people management experience along with advanced accounting or auditing experience.  Specifically, the candidate should demonstrate: strong technical and supervisory skills to lead a department of up to 20 resources performing various accounting and reconciliations activities and support their professional development; the ability to identify and implement improvements in collaboration with key stakeholders; the ability to exercise professional skepticism and provide critical insights; and strong analytical, critical thinking, interpersonal and communication skills. Core functions Reporting directly to the JESS Senior Operations Manager, the Accounting Team Lead will supervise the Time and Expense department to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with established policies and procedures.  Core job responsibilities will be to: direct, evaluate and plan in collaboration with key stakeholders all activities within the JESS Time and Expense department; perform quality assurance reviews of deliverables and ensures that it meets client's expectations and timelines monitor, analyse and assess the performance of the department and recommends and develops procedures or processes to improve efficiency and product quality delivery by the team; prepare and deliver special and complex reports on performance analysis of the department against contractual parameters and company standards; and provide leadership, train, coach and develop assigned personnel including setting performance criteria and conducting performance appraisals. Professional qualification The successful candidate should possess: a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field from an accredited college or university; and a minimum of five years progressive accounting experience, with at least three years in a supervisory role.
