The successful candidate will: Perform comparisons of friction ridge detail, perform administrative and technical reviews, and report he results. Interact with other forensic staff to ensure a high quality product. Provide training and mentorship to Contractor and USG DOJ personnel to provide a highly trained staff. Be prepared provide testimony on findings. Analyze images of latent prints to determine value for identification. Encode, launch, and conduct Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) searches using the FBI’s Next Generation Identification (NGI) system, Latent Print Workstation (LPW) or Universal Latent Workstation (ULW), screen the results of the searches, and conduct any necessary comparisons. Conduct comparisons of latent prints with known fingerprints, palm prints, complete friction ridge exemplars and other latent prints to determine whether they originated from the same or different source. Author, review, and provide quality control of case notes and reports detailing findings of analysis, examinations, and conclusions. Prepare all required documentation for case records. If necessary, process a wide range of complex forensic material associated with IEDs using advanced physical and chemical processes and light sources to include laser, alternate light source and reflected ultraviolet imaging system (RUVIS). Prepare and maintain all chemicals necessary for processing of evidence, including following government SOPs for making and testing all chemical reagents. Stage and maintain equipment as necessary to ensure proper and efficient job performance. Stage and maintain proper chain of custody of all forensic material in the Contractor’s possession under examination. Testify to results of examinations in a court of law. Provide expert guidance in all aspects of the fingerprint science. Use the FBI’s Latent Print Digital Imaging System (LPDIS), including using Forensic Imaging System Hubs (FISH) as required, to properly preserve, enhance, and archive digital images. Use the current database network for evidence inventory, tracking, and flow.
