G. C. FOSTER COLLEGE OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORT G. C. Foster College of Physical Education and Sport seeks to recruit suitable candidates for the following position: Accounting Clerk (Inventory) FMG/AC1 Accounting Clerk (Inventory) FMG/AC1 The incumbent is responsible for performing professional accounting activities for specialized, complex and/or functional areas requiring the expert knowledge and professional application of accounting principles. Carry out effective and efficient communication and liaison; establishing and maintaining accounting systems. Duties and Responsibilities includes but not limited to: Review and apply inventory activities, including movements and deletions, maintain and update inventory records Develop and implement efficient inventory management procedures, reconcile inventory discrepancies and implement a loss prevention program, Report any stock issues to management and place product orders as necessary, prepare a list of depleted products and a survey of unusable products and perform regular quality checks on all vendor supplies and maintain record of all receipts. Monitor and validate all inventories, perform cycle count of all products and perform monthly short dated checks, maintain accuracy of all counts and ensure authenticity of all information  and maintain log of all records and update all requisitions to ensure efficient cost transfers. Prepare stock status reports and perform physical inventory counts and maintain count of all merchandise and prepare reports for all shortages and maintain inventory of all office records and sales orders and compare current inventory and evaluate all stock to ensure absence of all discrepancies. Special Knowledge & Skills Required Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures, knowledge of computerized accounting systems and applications to include terminals/personal computers, general software applications and keyboard facility Skill in performing detailed and complex numerical computations and reports, excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills and good reasoning and problem solving skills Ability to demonstrate flexibility; work on own initiative and under pressure and ability to pay close attention to detail Minimum Qualification & Experience Five (5) C.X.C inclusive of Mathematics, Accounts and English Language A Diploma/Certificate in Management/Accounting would be preferable Knowledge of Inventory/Accounting would be an asset.
