We are looking for a portfolio manager/senior investment analyst to join the Cbus Internal Global Equities Team, a team that currently manages $1.7B in funds.
The position would provide you with an opportunity to help shape the direction of this team, take advantage of additional opportunities that will arise during Cbus' ongoing internalisation process, and contribute to the superannuation returns of over 700,000 Australians.
We are a diverse team of six with a long-term approach to investments and operate in such a way that all team members share ownership of the portfolio. We encourage flexibility in our work practices, and we value collaboration, innovation, mentorship and a sense of shared development.
We have a long list of requirements for our ideal candidate with an understanding that no one will meet all of these.
At its core, this position requires someone with substantial experience within the world of investments; this may be via funds management, sell-side analysis, investment banking or similar. Exceptional analytical skills, outstanding presentation and financial modelling skills, and a demonstrated interest in the global equities landscape would also be required.
In addition to these core requirements we would encourage you to apply if you have a working knowledge of Mandarin or have had previous exposure to either Australian or Asian equities, although the absence of these is not a deal breaker. Previous leadership or management experience would also be looked upon favourably.
For us to be the right fit we also think that the following attributes should resonate with you; curiosity, optimism, resilience, flexibility.
Given our long-term view of investing, we may not feel like a traditional investment fund. Our decision-making process is intentionally slow and considered, and the diversity of our team means all points of view are encouraged. We prioritise research that has a long shelf life, rather than focusing on daily price movements or quarterly reporting. The benefit of this approach is that it provides you with a platform from which you are encouraged to investigate things that interest you, to travel as needed, and to bring your creativity to bear on your analysis.
If any of this appeals to you we would strongly encourage you to apply.
NOTE**Include with your application: a short cover letter that discusses whether you think Tesla is the future (aim for half a page).
A position description that provides a complete overview of this role is available on our website at www.cbussuper.com.au/careers.
The location for this position is flexible, Cbus has offices in both Melbourne (321 Exhibition Street) and Sydney (44 Market St).
Applications Close 14th October 2018
As part of the final selection process candidates will be required to complete externally conducted psychometric testing.
Cbus is committed to supporting flexible working requests and all requests will be considered as part of the application process.
