About us: The Pankhurst Trust (Incorporating Manchester Women’s Aid) is a women-led organisation whose charitable objects are to promote the equality of women, support women and their dependants suffering or at risk of suffering domestic abuse and to preserve and improve the Pankhurst Centre, a museum dedicated to the suffrage movement and the Pankhurst family in particular. We offer support by providing safe accommodation, specialist support services and by working in partnership with other agencies. In addition to our domestic abuse services, we deliver a range of heritage and cultural services from our base at the Pankhurst Centre. The Role: The organisation seeks to appoint an experienced individual to contribute to the effective management and strategic development of the organisation’s key financial systems. You will provide financial support to the Business Manager and Senior Management Team and line management support to the Finance and Administration Assistant. You will contribute to organisational performance, IT and communication systems and health and safety. You will be responsible for day to day financial information that will support the Trust’s decision making and strategy. You will oversee all bank and control account reconciliations including rents and payroll. About you: You will have an excellent standard of general education and a professional accountancy qualification. You will have experience of preparing financial audits and accounts. Knowledge and experience of using QuickBooks or an equivalent accounting package as well as using and maintaining spreadsheets will be essential. You will have current knowledge of charity accounting, payroll procedures and the ability to critically assess data. You will be able to produce reports, work to deadlines and prioritise busy workloads. You will be an enthusiastic team member who has good communication skills. A friendly, flexible ‘can do’ attitude is essential for this role. You will use your initiative to identify areas that can improve the finance policies and procedures.
