Description

We are seeking a Local Regulatory Reporting Accountant to join our Citigroup Global Markets (CGM) Local Regulatory Reporting team that is responsible for the preparation and submission of all Local Regulatory Reports for CGM related entities to the Australian regulatory authorities, including the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). CGM related entities include all of Citi's broker dealer legal entities in Australia.
The successful candidate's role will be to prepare, analyse and submit all CGM related local regulatory returns in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements. This includes the preparation of IFRS compliant annual financial statements for lodgement with ASIC.
Key accountabilities include:
- Preparation of daily ASX capital adequacy monitoring;
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual returns to ASX, APRA and other Australian regulatory authorities in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements;
- Analysis of returns prior to submission to ensure full explanation of significant movements;
- Support the business by providing insight and forecast to capital usage in line with regulatory reporting requirements;
- Preparation of year-end financial statements;
- Support new financial and regulatory reporting initiatives as required;
- Monitor changes in regulatory reporting guidelines and regulations;
- Drive continuous improvement of processes, procedures and documentation
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Qualified CA / CPA with 3+ years of post-qualification experience
- Commerce / Business / Economics Degree (major in Accounting or Finance)
- 3+ years of experience in Banking and Financial Services
- 2+ years of experience in Regulatory Reporting, especially ASX and APRA
- Strong ability to meet tight deadlines and manage time with conflicting priorities
- Strong ability to work independently and as an active member of a team
- High attention to detail and ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure
- Flexible, motivated and enthusiastic approach, and strong team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must
- Ability to learn new financial systems and tools quickly
- Strong Excel skills
