Financial Reporting Associate - Academies Financial Reporting Division

The role calls for a blend of technical accounting and soft skills. You'll own a portfolio of tasks, such as supporting accounts production and audit; commissioning valuations; or designing data collection processes from academies. You'll lead on complex areas of financial reporting, delivering high quality work to often demanding timescales, and advising on day-to-day technical issues.

Collaboration will be vital. You'll guide junior colleagues (EAs). You'll liaise with stakeholders to improve key financial reporting processes such as online data collection. You'll be part of an ambitious programme of change in the team, supporting work to bring a number of services in-house from suppliers and to automate the way we collect data from academies. More broadly, you'll build strong links across the Department, and advise the academy sector, ensuring data received is robust and accurate.

Requirements

As well as having excellent technical accounting knowledge, you'll have delivered in a fast-paced, pressured environment. And ideally, you'll also have experience of managing external audits, financial systems and statutory accounts, government budgets and financial reporting. You'll also be enrolled / part-qualified on a CCAB qualification, or have experience in a finance and accounting role and an interest in enrolling for an accounting qualification.
