SUMMARY Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Maintain or oversee the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reoccurring journal entries and reports. Prepare balance sheet and profit and loss statements, and other accounting schedules and reports. Maintain Fixed Assets Ledger and subsequent depreciation schedules. Record, classify and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Prepare and organize supporting documentation for audit purpose. Prepare journal entries, maintains and reconcile ledger accounts. Maintain regular and detailed interaction with A/P, AR and Manufacturing Cost functions for analytical and process support. Performs analysis and prepare special reports. Help with filing municipal and state tax reports on a monthly and quarterly basis. Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees Planning, assigning, and directing work Appraising performance Rewarding and disciplining employees Addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year College or University in Accounting or equivalent field of study; and at least 4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training preferably in a manufacturing environment. Thorough working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues. The ability to understand and follow instructions and the ability to concentrate are required. Experience in month end close process adhering to established deadlines. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, and other Microsoft Office Applications. Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills required. JD Edwards System experience and/or similar ERP system experience preferred. The ability to get along with others or to be part of a team is required. Experience with government contracts and FAR regulations is a plus. Regular attendance is required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS CPA is preferred.
