An exciting opportunity as Tax Accountant in the city of London for an international Law firm. The role deals primarily with the partners of my client, of which there are approximately 350, and entails administration of partner's tax reserve accounts. This includes maintaining the Partner's reserves, posting tax payment journals, posting end of year tax adjustments and carrying out the annual reconciliation of the Partner's tax reserve accounts.

Description

The key responsibilities for the role of Tax Accountant are:

  • Ongoing monthly maintenance of Partner's tax reserve accounts and resolving queries where necessary.

  • Analyse and post UK tax payments into 3E (the firm's accounting system) and ensure amounts reconcile to tax liability figures
  • Maintain schedules of non-UK tax payments and tax liabilities for various jurisdictions, and reconcile to tax assessments

  • Managing the annual cycle of reconciling and paying out partner's tax reserve accounts.

  • Reconciling the partnerships Italian partner's tax reserve accounts.

  • Reconciling US partner's tax reserve accounts, which includes liaising with the firms US colleagues.

  • Calculating and posting deferred tax, corporation tax and other adjustments to the partner's tax reserve accounts.

Profile

The successful candidate for the role of Tax Accountant must have:

  • Able to think broadly and demonstrate a good level of initiative.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an excellent eye for detail.

  • Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task and prioritise, ensuring that deadlines are met.

  • Attention to detail to ensure high level of accuracy of work.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent and hold an accounting qualification.
  • An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential.

  • Experience of 3E or similar accounting software is desirable.

  • Being comfortable with handling large amounts of data is essential.

  • Ideally an aptitude or interest of working in an international tax environment and gaining more exposure to tax work.
