A successful global specialty insurance business are currently looking to appoint a part / newly qualified Accountant to join their international markets finance team in London. This is a newly created position due to the ongoing growth and expansion of the business. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be joining a finance team of 15.

As Corporate Accountant you will work alongside two other colleagues to manage the accounting of corporate members, the consolidation and analysis of financial results for international markets, and report the results to the US listed parent company. In addition to this, you will have involvement in the various ongoing finance projects (new business integration, alignment and streamlining of finance processes, new systems etc).

Key duties:

*Prepare / assist in the explanation of Quarterly Group Consolidation
*Prepare group eliminations / segment adjustments
*Preparation of the Quarterly Group reporting pack
*Be responsible for the accuracy of general ledger
*Prepare Corporate member trial balances
*Prepare Quarterly external reporting (trade capital reporting)
*Prepare statutory accounts for Corporate Members
*Assist with IFRS consolidated accounts
*Assist in the development of finance systems
*Key involvement in ensuring Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance
*Co-ordinate with external auditors in a professional manner
*Be the key point of contact for tax advisors
*Interact with all internal and external customers in a professional manner (auditors, tax advisors, suppliers, Chief Actuary, underwriting teams)
*Involvement finance projects as and when required
*Review and approve syndicate coverholders/brokers

About the successful applicant:

* Part / Qualified Accountant
* Insurance market experience essential (ideally Lloyd's market, but not essential)
* Detailed understanding of UK GAAP (essential)
* General Ledger experience desirable
* Intermediate Excel skills
