Accounts Clerk POSITION PURPOSE : Responsible for assisting in the maintenance of Accounts Payables & Receivables as well as provides support related to the accounts department. He/She is also responsible for performing all duties and functions with due care, attention, confidentiality and integrity consistent policies and procedures. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Types correspondence such as memos, letters, reports and other documents as assigned including collating and dispatch of related correspondence. Balances daily payments received. Receives invoices for payment, prepares cheques and records invoice payments via Quick Books. Prepares quotations and invoices and enters on Quick Books. Receives payments, issues receipts and enters information on Quick Books. Performs the duties of petty cash custodian while ensuring all expenditure is properly authorized and update on Quick Books. Prepares daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly reports as required. Photocopies and scans documents as requested and transmits and retrieves messages via facsimile, email, etc. Files and dispatches related correspondence while ensuring that the filing system is properly maintained and secured at all times. Responds to requests, enquiries, incoming and outgoing calls, in a courteous and timely manner and escalation to the Manager/Supervisor where necessary. Updates and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and perform other light bookkeeping activities (e.g., QuickBooks transactions). EDUCATION : Five (5) GCE O'Levels Grades A, B and C or CXC O'Levels (General Proficiency) Grades I, II or III MUST HAVE Working knowledge and experience in QuickBooks Accounting software AAT/CAT or ACCA Level One or equivalent Certificate and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite EXPERIENCE : Minimum three (3) years working experience in accounts REQUIRED COMPETENCIES : Strong numerical and analytical skills Effective communication and Interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of Accounting systems
