Join the company that understands rewarding careers like no other, with this exceptional opportunity: Job Description: This position plays a critical role in the Discover Decision Management - Consumer Lending Modeling & Analytics team. The primary responsibilities include the development and implementation of Underwriting, Marketing, and Collection modeling and analytical capabilities using the advanced data mining tools and the best-in-class data sources. Seeks opportunities to improve DFS advanced analytics and capabilities. Specific responsibilities include: Manages a modeling team in the U.S. (Chicago) and coordinate with a modeling team in Shanghai to provide modeling support for Risk Management Functions Manages the relationship with business partners. Allocates resources and prioritizes projects. Ensures the modeling projects are delivered in a timely manner. Responsible for model design, development, and model implementation. Ensures that the models are maintained and updated in a timely manner and the models perform as expected Maintains a high level of competency in statistical and analytical principles, tools and techniques and support the advancement of the best-in-class analytical capabilities to support acquisition risk management functions Acts as a liaison among Decision Management, business technology teams and other business partners and interface across the organization Reviews external data and model vendors. Identifies, evaluates and recommends alternatives to business solutions. Keeps DFS on technology frontier Skills Required: Skills Required: To qualify, you must have the following: Education: Minimum Master Degree in a quantitative field is required. Ph.D in quantitative field is preferred Skills: A strong set of quantitative/analytical skills demonstrated through advanced academic training and extensive practical experiences. Minimum 5-6 years of credit card industry experience with a thorough understanding credit card profitability dynamics. Strong computer skills, experience with statistical software and other analytical tools. Proven problem solving skills.
