About the Position Guggenheim Partners is seeking an exceptional Investment and Valuation Analyst to join its Special Projects Group. The Special Projects Group (SPG) in the office of the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) provides qualitative and quantitative analytical support for management-level decisions in Guggenheim Partners' Investment Management division. The Special Project Group's responsibilities include: Development and maintenance of complex financial models used to deliver custom analysis for clients, firm management and for evaluation of investment strategies (existing, new or external). Contributing to the new product development process including, but not limited to, drafting/reviewing term sheets, creation/review of pitch-books and other presentations or analyses, and assisting with post-launch strategy management. This position is located in Santa Monica. Specific Responsibilities Include: Evaluate existing investment strategies both for performance monitoring and for potential opportunities to increase efficiency through structural or other modifications Assist in management of year-end financial statement process on behalf of clients including security valuation and review of potential consolidating or other unique transactions Effectively document and be able to communicate key features of complex transactions to internal and external constituents Periodically review performance and risk across all strategies and accounts Oversee multiple projects across the organization including investment research, new fund/product launches, and firm-wide management level initiatives etc. Ad hoc projects as needed Skills & Experience Required BS degree in Accounting 2-3 years of experience in public accounting/audit (preferably Insurance or Investment Management sector) Technical foundation to grasp various traditional and alternative investment strategies Strong technical skills and extensive familiarity with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Bloomberg In addition, the ideal candidate will be or have Highly organized, with the initiative and ability to work with limited supervision Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects under tight deadlines Ability to work effectively within a small team setting Organized, detail oriented and extremely thorough while having the confidence and communication skills to ensure work processes are completed accurately and appropriately Strong problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative and critically analyze processes and procedures in a push toward constant improvement Must be willing to roll up their sleeves to perform any and all responsibilities needed to ensure success About Guggenheim Investments Guggenheim Investments is the global asset management and investment advisory division of Guggenheim Partners, with expertise in fixed income, equity, and alternative strategies.
