You an exciting opportunity to work with the Data Analytics team within Internal Audit (IA), in a global and diverse environment. You will apply your technical skills by analysing large data sets and databases to answer audit questions and provide insight to the business.

In this role the candidate will:
  • Apply and build data analytics tests based on walkthroughs with the audit team, including assembling requirements as well as performing the necessary analytics.
  • Apply conceptual thinking through synthesis of facts, theories, trends, inferences, and key issues and/or themes in complex and variable situations, to solve a diverse range of interesting problems.
  • Diagnose problems from multiple angles, using formal problem-solving tools and techniques.
  • Seek out opportunities to improve, streamline, reinvent work processes through data driven solutions. In addition, explore and evaluate numerous potential solutions, maintaining balance between innovation and pragmatism when determining the best approach.
  • Build and maintain self-service data solutions (e.g. Tableau Dashboards) for business users.
  • Establish and maintain relationships within Internal Audit across all locations as well as other control functions within the bank to build analytics solutions.
  • Proactively engage Internal Audit teams to find opportunities to leverage technology and analytics in connection with risk assessment, continuous risk monitoring and audit execution processes.
  • Display your good communication, interpersonal skills and ability to understand requirements and engage with users with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • The role is open to flexible/agile working arrangements.

You Offer
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance or another quantitative field.
  • Relevant experience in consulting or the finance/banking industry.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms.
  • Strong SQL and proven data analytics skills including: mining data, interpreting results, working with statistics, trends, etc.
  • Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages such as R and Python; knowledge of Java, JavaScript, C/C++ will be an added bonus.
  • Experience in using data visualisation products and technologies (e.g. Tableau).
  • Experience with ETL technologies such as MS SSIS or any relevant ETL tools.
  • Strong problem solving skills with a positive personality and can-do attitude.
  • Very good interpersonal skills and ability to articulate complex concepts in a concise manner in both written and verbal presentations across all levels of management.
  • Understanding of the importance of handling risk and quality on data projects.
  • Knowledge of good data management practice and relevant regulations (e.g. BCBS239) is a plus.
  • A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
