Asia Sales & Marketing provide Markets & Investor Services solutions to clients. In Investor Services, we offer a full range of services, including custody & fund services, agency clearing, collateral management and execution services, financing and prime brokerage. About Asia Sales & Marketing Business Management
Asia Sales & Marketing Business Management function sits within Finance & Business Management (F&BM) of the Corporate & Investment Bank. Business managers are responsible for supporting the business heads from an end-to-end perspective, helping business heads to drive the business agenda across financials, client coverage, risk & control (including regulatory), people and partnership. Business managers have significant exposure & interactions with senior management and are required to have a thorough understanding of the business & regulatory landscape, equipped with strategic, financial and project coordination skills.

The Role:
Investor Services F&BM is seeking an Associate, based in Hong Kong, to support Clearing Sales businesses, driving strategic analysis, process improvement, financial analysis and controls as well as the support of all CRM tools for all business under Investor Services. As part of the APAC Investor Services Sales Business Management team, the successful candidate will partner closely with other BMs across Global Investor Services and the Sales & Marketing franchise. They will work closely with other functions including Product, Finance, Operations, Compliance and HR to deliver upon the requirements of the business. The role will involve significant exposure to the front office and extensive interaction with senior management, including direct support of the Heads of Asia Pacific Futures and OTC Clearing Sales and their immediate directs. This role will report to the lead BM for Investor Services Sales APAC, also based in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities include:
  • Driving Business Growth and Strategy
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Business Heads. Provide management assistance, for instance by convening business reviews and management meetings
  • Drive competitive analysis and reporting
  • Ensure implementation of business strategies and help drive change
  • Ensure delivery of business initiatives and projects - provide overall governance across multiple initiatives
  • Escalate issues and roadblocks
  • Provide analytics for business decisions
  • Support & enhancement of all CRM and Sales technology tools impact Investor Services sales

Optimize Business Performance
  • Annual Plan/ Budget process
  • Regular expense reviews to ensure targets are met
  • Investment / productivity initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with expense policies
Manage Business Risks
  • Assist with regulatory reform issues that impact the business
  • Identify, assess and mitigate business risks that could impair the ability to do business

MIS/ Governance:
  • Assist in governance forums (Management Committees, Operating Committees and Business Control Committees)
  • Compile monthly Business reviews - tracking performance against budget
  • Analyze and report on client, segment, region, and product profitability
  • Generate key performance indicators
Experience / Skills Required:
  • Work experience in Markets or Investor Services preferred
  • Understanding of front-to-back trade / booking flows and best practices
  • Understanding of sales processes and the client/investor landscape
  • Understanding of legal, compliance and regulatory requirements for financial institutions
  • Strong Financial background (PnL Construct, Balance Sheet, RWA, Leverage etc) preferred

Core Skills Required
  • Strategic with good business acumen

  • Excellent communication skills with strong English fluency (written and spoken)
  • Structured and organized; strong project management skills
