The NSPCC is the leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. The NSPCC Finance function has a critical role to play in supporting the delivery of this mission, ensuring effective management and control of the NSPCC’s resources, production and communication of financial information to all NSPCC stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

As part of the Financial Accounting Team, and reporting to the Financial Accounting & Control Manager, your daily duties will include:

• Manage the monthly and year-end close process
• Ensuring the continuous improvement and the monitoring of internal controls – performing relevant tasks in relation to the balance sheet
• Monitoring and forecasting cash flow and supporting treasury management
• Maintain constructive relationships with the bank and investment advisors
• Preparation of quarterly VAT returns for the NSPCC and its trading companies
• Supporting the Financial Accounting & Control Manager in the delivery of the consolidated statutory accounts of the NSPCC and it subsidiaries
• Working alongside other teams within Finance and the organisation more generally, actively continue to develop the financial processes and procedures to improve performance and efficiency

The successful candidate will ideally be newly qualified ACA/ACCA who can demonstrate a sound knowledge of general accounting principles and strong attention to detail, with the ambition to further their skills and knowledge.  The candidate must not only be technically astute but also demonstrate a proactive approach to their work continuously looking to improve the services and outputs delivered by the high performing finance team. They will be a strong team player with excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others to ensure the delivery of a first-class financial service to the stakeholders of the charity.
