Finance Officer

This All Through SEN School, OfSTED graded as Outstanding based in Hackney are seeking a Finance Officer to join their friendly team.

Reporting to the Business Manager, you will be responsible for supporting in the financial management of the school, undertaking school financial functions and processes whilst maintaining all financial records. Key tasks will include supporting in the preparation, monitoring and forecasting of budgets, income and expenditure.

Duties include:

• Preparation of budgetary income and expenditure statements
• Monitoring of income/expenditure analyse and evaluate data/information
• Administer budget and financial transactions on the schools accounting system, processing payments, income
• Prepare and submit return reports
• Place purchase orders and generate payments and BACS runs as authorised
• Reconcile schools bank accounts and financial ledgers
• Liaise with the LEA in relation to delegated school budget
• To operate petty cash and receive, record and bank monies paid in to the school.
• Ensure financial transactions are compliant with financial regulations
• Provide general support to other colleagues in the admin team when required

Substantial experience of development, management and operation of financial/accounting systems within a school environment and a working knowledge of FMS is key for this role. Either a National Qualification level 3 or equivalent qualification (AAT) is essential.
